As the Team Coordinator, People Operations at The Clean Slate Initiative, Essence provides administrative support to the operations and programs departments. Essence is passionate about helping others find their voice and use it for the world’s greater good. Coming from a Union working household, Essence has applied all she learned as a young adult to her position at The Clean Slate Initiative. In 2009 she joined her coach Angel Perez in advocating for equal rights. She was 1 of 4 young girls invited to join the annual Jr. RBI Classics event. Initially, only those who played baseball were invited. Through her presence, she was able to advocate for a separate event that is still hosted yearly for not just traditional baseball players but a softball chapter, in addition to young girls who desired to press the status quo. 

In 2018 She worked as the Administrative Assistant to the Organizing department for Florida Rights Restoration. As an advocate for the voiceless, she joined the Election Protection crew as the North East Regional Organizer, where she moved and organized groups of College and Highschool students who all shared the same passion as her, getting people to the polls. Shortly after Essence, she joined the Biden/Harris Coordinated Campaign, where she was the Volusia county Organizer. Essence uses her voice and pain to turn into effective and purposeful advocacy for those facing challenges in life. Essence is currently a student at Valencia Community College, where she will earn her degree in Psychology. She hopes to attend the University of Florida to continue her education.
