A Note of Appreciation for Erin George

Colleagues, Partners, Grantees, and Friends,

I am sharing this message with mixed emotions: Erin George, National Campaigns Manager for Clean Slate Initiative has transitioned out of our organization and into what is a dream role for her. Erin has moved into a leadership role as National Director of Policy at The Bail Project, and I am so excited for her new chapter.

Erin was one of my very first hires and one of the best leadership decisions I have made. She has been an immensely valuable part of our team as the first Campaign Manager. Her dedication and work ethic have helped shape how we build power by working in partnership with communities and organizations in states across the country. Within these first two years of CSI having professional staff, Erin helped build lasting state campaigns that led our movement to pass Clean Slate policies in several states, including Delaware and Colorado. With an unmatched passion for the work, Erin impressively helped to build trust with partners that laid a foundation for CSI's growing network of allies.

I can't say enough about what a pleasure and honor it has been to work with Erin and to see her growth and impact. This new role at The Bail Project is the perfect next step for her career as a tireless advocate for those impacted by the criminal justice system. As you may know, before her time with CSI, Erin was a fierce advocate for bail reform in New York. We are grateful that she is leaving sprinkles of her organizer DNA behind with the Campaigns Team—and taking some CSI DNA with her to her new role!

Erin’s last day with CSI was Wednesday, December 7th. As Erin grows, so will CSI. We are actively hiring Campaign Strategists as we continue to build our team, and continue to build upon the work Erin contributed to our movement.

 With gratitude,

Sheena Meade
Executive Director
The Clean Slate Initiative
