5 Reasons to Attend CSI’s 2024 Annual Convening

Every once in a while, an event comes along that you shouldn’t miss. If you’re in (or interested in) Clean Slate work, The Clean Slate Initiative’s 2024 Annual Convening is one of those events.

This year’s Convening will be June 13 - 14 in Philadelphia, PA — offering all attendees an opportunity to learn, lead, and go for more in the Clean Slate work.

You can expect lots of networking, peer-to-peer learning, state and nationwide updates on Clean Slate work, and of course, a heavy focus on directly impacted leaders in this movement. Plus, we’re organizing the Convening into a few different “tracks” this year to help ensure you’re getting the learning and networking opportunities most helpful to your work.

We’d love to have you there, and here are five reasons why we think you should register today:

#1: You’ll be part of an amazing community at this convening, grounded in the state where it all started.

The Clean Slate Initiative aims to build and expand community by uniting businesses, advocates, community members, directly impacted individuals around the country to advance Clean Slate — and the most palpable part of that work happens at our Annual Convening. If you attend, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to expand your connections with attendees from across the country, and our programming is intentionally designed to foster organic and structured networking time.

#2: The information sharing will be two-way at every turn.

You will have the opportunity to learn directly from experts in the field in a variety of panels, sessions, and networking opportunities. Many movement leaders and organizations will be present to share insights directly related to your work. This opportunity to exchange learnings and best practices also presents an optimal environment to develop potential partnerships for your work.

#3: We’re centering directly impacted people in our work.

CSI’s Annual Convening, at its core, is about uplifting the directly impacted people in the Clean Slate work. We offer a platform for directly impacted community members to share their stories, connect, learn, and teach. You will have the chance to develop a greater understanding of the impact of our work, how our work is advanced by partner organizations, and how you can lift the experiences – and stories – of directly impacted people in your own work.

#4: Wherever you’re at in the Clean Slate work, there’s a spot for you.

This year we have a few different “tracks” to help ensure you’re getting the learning and networking opportunities that will be most helpful to your work. The tracks are focused on laying the groundwork, stepping stone states, active campaigns, and implementation — and if you don’t fit into any of those tracks, there’s still a spot for you. You can check out the full program line-up on our event page.

#5: The registration cost goes up May 30.

In order to keep logistics manageable and ensure the best experience all-around, we want people to register as early as possible. That’s why, after May 30, our convening’s registration cost will increase to $300 until registration officially closes on June 7. Claim your spot by registering today before the price increases.
