Jesse Kelley, CSI, Gives Testimony in Support of Hawaii’s Clean Slate Bills

The Clean Slate Initiative’s Jesse Kelley, Senior Policy Strategist, provided testimony in support of Hawaii’s Clean Slate bills: HB 1595 and HB 1663. These bills represent crucial steps toward establishing a fair and effective expungement process in the Aloha state.

HB 1595 addresses the challenges faced by individuals burdened with records and ensures that the state takes an active role in rectifying the consequences of outdated laws, particularly those related to cannabis.

HB 1663 would expand the eligibility of conviction records for expungement, as well as provide for the expungement to occur automatically.
