Ethan Gumpert
Compliance Manager
Ethan Gumpert (he/him) is a passionate advocate for the empowerment of oppressed and marginalized people everywhere.
With ambitious goals to pass Clean Slate policies nationwide, CSI requires equally ambitious compliance programs - and that’s where Ethan comes in. As Compliance Manager, Ethan leverages his expertise in building and managing compliance programs that facilitate efficient and transparent advocacy, campaigns, fundraising, and grantmaking operations.
Prior to joining CSI, Ethan served as Compliance Manager for For Our Future, a national PAC dedicated to supporting progressive candidates and causes in Florida, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. At AdvaMed, Ethan led capacity building initiatives to advance the medical device industry’s global compliance capabilities while simultaneously managing the association’s compliance and board governance operations. Ethan gained additional public policy and advocacy experience in roles throughout Washington, DC, and Brussels, Belgium.
Ethan is the founder of Sober Dining Club, a nonprofit dedicated to creating sober social spaces by organizing and promoting substance-free social events. Ethan has served on a number of volunteer boards and is an active alumni of New Leaders Council, a leadership program that provides cross-sector changemakers place-based training and a national network of support. Ethan earned his BA in International Studies from American University.
Ethan lives in Atlanta, GA with his partner and houseplants. For fun, Ethan enjoys cooking, eating, reading, movies, music, travel, and anything outdoors.
