A Note of Gratitude from Our CEO

It’s officially the season widely recognized for gratitude, so I want to take this opportunity to extend my thanks to every person who makes Clean Slate progress possible.

Here at CSI, we have a team of more than 20 people who work day in and day out to pass and implement Clean Slate policies on the state and federal levels and to expand who is eligible for those policies so that as many people can benefit from Clean Slate as possible. I’m so grateful for this team and the work they do.

And then there’s our wide network of partners and allies across the country who are constantly working to pass, implement, and spread the word about Clean Slate in their own states and at the federal level. Within that network, there are advocates, policy experts, lawmakers, government officials, business leaders, and everyday people — all of whom care about reducing the harms of records on their communities, and they put in the work to make it happen. I am in constant awe of the work that these partners do.

Within our network of Clean Slate champions across the country, there is a group of people who deserve their own thanks because they’re doing the work on a deeply personal level: directly impacted people. It can be challenging to advocate for policies that affect you directly. When it’s that personal, there’s a lot more at stake than just a bill that fails or passes. That’s why I will always be so incredibly thankful for people who champion Clean Slate while living with the impacts of a record in their own lives.

And, of course, I’m grateful for every person who supports The Clean Slate Initiative. Whether you’ve donated to us, followed us on social media, visited our website, or attended our events, your support helps this work continue to grow and thrive.

I hope you have a wonderful start to the holiday season.
