We're excited to host CSI's 2025 Convening at The Old Post Office in Chicago, IL — a historic landmark with modern amenities. Once the world’s largest post office, it processed 19 million pieces of mail daily at its peak. Today, it features 12 unique event spaces, including the Historic Lobby, Marquee Conference Center, Telegram Lounge, Vault, Penthouse, and Library — where key sessions will take place.

How can I apply for a travel / accommodation scholarship from The Clean Slate Initiative?
We will provide a limited number of travel/accommodation scholarships for partners who wish to attend the convening and who do not have the organizational funds to cover travel/accommodation costs. Priority will be given to attendees who are directly impacted by an arrest or conviction record or a close loved one with an arrest or conviction record.
Please complete this scholarship form as soon as possible and no later than April 25, 2025, for consideration. If you have any difficulties accessing or completing the form, please email convening@cleanslateinitiative.org.
What’s the registration deadline?
Registration for The Clean Slate Initiative’s 2025 Convening closes Friday, May 30, but we encourage you to register early and take advantage of our early bird pricing, which ends on Monday, April 28. If you have a question regarding registration, please contact convening@cleanslateinitiative.org.

All registration fees are non-refundable, but if you need to cancel, please let us know. Space is limited, so we appreciate you letting us know so we can allow another person to attend. If you are no longer able to attend the convening, we ask that you email our team at convening@cleanslateinitiative.org.

Will this event be fully accessible?
Yes. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) § 36.203(a) states that “A public accommodation shall afford goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, and accommodations to an individual with a disability in the most integrated setting appropriate to the needs of the individual.”
Additionally, we have the following accommodations, among others, in place: The event location is ADA compliant. Staff will be instructed to be on the lookout for attendees who may need assistance and escorts. Attendees will have access to a nursing lounge/lactation room, if needed. If you have questions or need to request a particular accommodation, please contact convening@cleanslateinitiative.org.
What’s the recommended arrival airport?
We recommend flying into and departing from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) or Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW).
What is the location of the convening?
The Clean Slate Initiative’s 2025 Convening will be held at The Old Post Office - 433 W Van Buren St, Chicago, IL 60607.
How many people are expected to attend?
We are expecting about 350 attendees.
How many people can I register for?
If you are planning to bring a group of 10 people or more to the convening, please email convening@cleanslateinitiative.org for a group code. You can then use that code when registering for a 10% discount.
It is required to have individual registration for all members of your group to ensure our team can communicate with all individuals directly to ensure their needs are met during the convening.
What’s the attire for the Convening?
The attire for the convening is business casual and we recommend comfortable shoes. Chicago’s weather in June averages between 63-77 degrees — pack accordingly!
What time will the convening begin and end each day?
Thursday, June 5: Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. CT. Programming ends at 5 p.m. CT. We will have an evening celebration 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. CT.
Friday, June 6: Breakfast begins at 8 a.m. CT. The programming ends at 12 p.m. CT.
Attendees who arrive on Wednesday, June 4 can check in to receive their convening badge from 3 - 5 p.m. at The Old Post Office.
What additional steps do I need to take after registering for this event?
Following registration, we’ll be sending you email reminders to support you in booking travel and hotel accommodations and downloading our Convening app (Whova). We will also provide updates on the full program, logistics, and more! Be sure to read those emails so you have all the information you need ahead of the convening.
